1 pkg. Of 2 1/4 tsp. Yeast
3/4 cup warm water
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 egg
1/2 cup evaporated milk
3 1/2 - 4 cups flour |
Dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar, salt, egg, and evaporated milk. Gradually stir in 2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Add remaining flour, 1/3 cups at a time.
Beat to form smooth firm dough. Cover and refrigerate overnight. On a light floured cutting broad, roll out dough about 3/8" thick, and add more flour if needed.
Cut in 2" by 3 " rectangles and diamonds
Drop in hot oil or grease about 1-2 min or until brown. Drain and sprinkle with power sugar.
